By putting in a garden pond you have taken the first step towards making your property a more tranquil getaway from everyday life.  If you dug your own pond, lined it, and filled it yourself you may have an overwhelming sense of pride already. 

For those personalization may not be needed.  But for most, a pond kit was most likely used to create your oasis.

After it is built and running smoothly it is a good idea to separate yours from others by personalizing it.  If you are ready to spruce up your pond you may want to consider the following:

1. Have a place to sit.  The sound of water is relaxing, so you may want to have a spot to relax at.  A bench, Adirondack chair, or even lawn chair may be a good start.


2. Add color.  Koi fish (real or not), flowers, lily pads, solar lights, and more will work.  Certain colors are more relaxing than others.  Use pinks for romance, blues for relaxation, and purples to signify luxury.  Adding these color can only enhance your experience.


3. Make it yours.  Put up statues or figures that you like to feel comforted and welcomed.   Put up a plaque or flag that signifies something personal to you or something with a loved one’s name on it.
